The seeds for the creation of One World Insight began to grow thirty years ago in the Arctic North where the seminar One Truth, Many Paths originated. Approximately 6,000 people participated over fifteen years in this experiential workshop, many of whom are still in contact with us today.
In 1990 the seminars expanded to the lush tropics of the Big Island of Hawaii. Because of increased interest and additional demand, several additional segments were added to One Truth, Many Paths, secondary concepts such as how best to calm the mind and open to receive the available insights.
In 1999, spreading branches this time to Boulder Colorado, haven for those in the spiritual community, Founder Bud Hollowell began offering an extensive collection of spiritual work under the name Dharma Studies which more fully explained the steps on the spiritual path in addition to the basic religious and wisdom traditions.
But the world was changing and the internet was the medium that was changing it. No longer able to accommodate the wide breathe of requests for what was an ever expanding collection of materials about consciousness, One World Insight incorporated under its current name as a nonprofit charitable organization. It was overseen by a national board of twelve directors, each located in a different region of the US. The original website was created in 2002.
After several years of operating as an organization, those who loved One World Insight decided that the time and energy spent on maintaining the organization and meeting the requirements of a nonprofit legal entity was distracting from the purity of focus on materials, ideas, information, sharing, and the consciousness experience. In 2009 the nonprofit status was allowed to lapse.
Currently the website has been redesigned to take advantage of rapidly developing new technologies by rebroadcasting its daily television series Mind Boggles, offering audio downloads with guided meditations, presenting articles, and facilitating online discussions.
One World Insight is proud to be listed with the Harvard University Plurality Project, the Rice University Bonick Project, and Interfaith Florida which promotes personal growth and self-development. One World Insight is cited around the world in college classrooms and reprinted in textbooks authored in countries outside the US.
